The Gijalordi (Kingfisher Story) project will create site specific public artwork that fuses a traditional Gulnay story in the Tully area into a ceiling mounted contemporary artwork installation which acknowledges the Gulnay Traditional Owners connection to country and celebrates local heritage. Gulnay Traditional Owners have provided advice and work with affiliated people and commissioned artists to design, craft and install a work which will enhance the entrance to the Tully Multipurpose Centre currently under construction. The project also encompasses an artist-in-residence program for students at the Tully State High School.
